Recognizing the importance of prayer, in 1727 there were 24 men and 24 women in the Moravian community of Hernnhut who committed themselves to round-the-clock prayer. Each man and woman prayed for one hour a day for the needs of the church and the Kingdom. This prayer chain continued for over 100 years, unbroken and yielding amazing fruit. It was during this time that God led the Moravians to pioneer world missions as we know them. This tradition of round- the-clock prayer was re-instituted in 1957, on the 500th anniversary of the Moravian Church.
Each Moravian congregation around the world is asked to pray for one day. You may pray at home, at work, at church, wherever.
You can download a Prayer Guide that will guide you through prayer for all our provinces and ministries.
