We practice an open communion and invite all confirmed members of the Christian church to partake. Children may stand during the offering of the bread to receive a blessing, if they have not been confirmed or received Pastoral instructions.
The bread and cup are brought to you symbolically reminding us that Christ comes to each of us. After everyone has been served, the pastor invites everyone to stand and partake together. At the beginning and end of the service, everyone shares the “right hand of fellowship” with those nearby. The first time signifies that we are “one in Christ,” the second “renewed dedication and unity of purpose in the service of Christ.”
